Gonna tag a few people I thiiink might be able to help just from their sheer… intelligence and knowledge of feel bad! Contemplating the economics of a fictional world gives me life. We KNOW that much of the Fire Nation is based off of Japan however, the currency they use is more closely acquainted with the Chinese yuan instead of the Japanese yen, so am I better off using yuan or yen when worldbuilding and referring to the currency? ALSO do any of us know what the ratio to copper/silver/gold coins is (how many coppers equals the value of a gold coin, for example) and how much things tend to GO for in the Fire Nation (how much would, for example, fire flakes be? two copper coins I think is what is mentioned in the show but hell if I actually remember anything?)
I’m writing a thing about economics in the Fire Nation and though it’s very interesting I’m HARDLY an economics major so I’m very much muddling my way thru okay so
